Cookie Policy
Which cookies and similar storage Bikabo uses, and what each one is for.
This policy lists what is actually set. It is deliberately short, because Bikabo uses very few cookies and no tracking.
1. What a cookie is here
A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to keep and send back on later requests. Similar technologies, such as local storage, do the same job differently. This policy covers both.
Cookies are usually described as strictly necessary, which means the service cannot work without them, or non-essential, which means everything else, including analytics and advertising.
2. What this website sets
One cookie, on one page, and only if you use it.
- A session cookie, set when you use the contact form. It carries the token that proves the form submission came from your browser and not from another site. It is strictly necessary, marked HTTP-only, marked secure over HTTPS, and expires when your browser session ends.
Nothing else. This site loads no analytics, no advertising tags, no social widgets, no embedded video and no fonts that set cookies. If you visit and do not use the contact form, no cookie is set at all.
3. What the application sets
The Bikabo application runs on its own subdomain and sets a session cookie once you sign in. It identifies your session so you do not have to sign in again on every page. It is strictly necessary, marked HTTP-only, marked secure over HTTPS, and expires after a period of inactivity or when you sign out.
That session is revalidated against our records on every request rather than trusted for its lifetime, which is why removing somebody’s access takes effect immediately rather than at their next sign-in.
4. Analytics and advertising
We do not currently use any. There is no analytics provider configured, no advertising pixel, and no cross-site tracking of any kind.
Because there is no advertising technology here, there is nothing to opt out of: we do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are used in United States state privacy laws.
This is a statement about what is deployed today, not a permanent commitment. If we introduce measurement, we will update this policy and the Privacy Policy before the tag ships and describe exactly what it sets. Where the law requires prior consent we will not run it until consent is given, and where the law provides an opt-out instead we will provide a working one. A disclosure without that behaviour behind it would not be worth much.
5. Managing cookies
Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies. How to do it depends on the browser, and its own help pages are the best guide.
Because the only cookies described here are strictly necessary, blocking them has a specific effect rather than a vague one: the contact form on this site will not be able to verify a submission, and the application will not be able to keep you signed in.
6. Changes to this policy
This inventory is revisited whenever a tag, a provider or a third-party embed changes. The version and last updated date at the top of this page will change with it.
Some browsers send a Global Privacy Control signal. As we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing for that signal to change here. If that ever ceases to be true, we will honour it.
